On Saturday 15th October 2011 the Communist Party of Britain launched its programme “Britain’s Road to Socialism” in Dorset.
The event was held in the Colliton club, Dorchester, Dorset. This was the first in a series of launch dates across the district of south west England and Cornwall.
The public meeting was well attended and well received. The meeting contained a broad section of left wing thinking. This included communists, socialist workers, respect, labour and the co-operative movement.
The key note speaker was Rob Griffiths Gen Sec. The other speakers were Paul Kimber, Cllr Weymouth & Portland borough council. Tim Nicholls, branch secretary of Dorset Socialists. Carl Wainwright, branch secretary of Dorset branch CPB also spoke.
It was agreed by all involved that the meeting has strengthened the left and labour movement in the area.
