CAMBRIDGE COMMUNISTS: Salute a veteran, then go for youth

Cambridge communists met Friday of last week for the branch AGM. It served as the occasion to pay tribute to the second oldest member of the branch, comrade Frank Liddiard [89 years] with 55 years membership. At the same meeting the branch elected a 19 year old engineering student as its new secretary.

North Devon: anti-imperialists campaigning together

An initiative of Chilean Socialist José Mateo and British Communist Gerrard Sables led to the founding of North Devon Liberation the only local branch of Liberation the long time campaigning body against imperialism.

CAMBRIDGE: Communists to host meeting Why Britain Needs Socialism

Communists in the City branch, along with activists and supporters in the newly formed Cambridge University Communist Society and the Anglia Ruskin Communist Society are to host a major meeting 'Why Britain Needs Socialism' in the City on Friday 21 October. Speakers include Robert Griffiths general secretary of the CP and Ann Field, print workers leader and Wapping strike veteran. If you wish to attend, get in touch. The meeting will be held in the Cambridge Unitarian Church, Emmanuel Road, just one minute from the central bus station, 7.45pm
