You are invited to an International Women's Day Event 2015, Saturday 7 March, 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm Organised by the Coordinating Committee of Communist Parties in Britain. It will be held in central London.

Theme - 'Women and the struggle for peace" (given the anniversary the end of World War II [70 years] and the Vietnam War [40 years], the anniversary of the founding of the WIDF [70 years] and the ever present wars and threats of wars in the world today). 

Venue - The Marx Memorial Library (MML), 37 Clerkenwell Green, London EC1R 0D (Nearest Underground – Farringdon)  

Times - Doors will open at 6.30 pm for a (prompt) 7.00 pm start and we aim to finish at approximately 9.00 pm. 

Programme - 
First half - International Rally. 
There will be a short welcome and introduction by the chair.  Organisations from Bangladesh (CP Bangladesh), Britain (National Assembly of Women), Greece (KKE), Iran (Democratic Organisation of Iranian Women) and Iraq(Iraqi Communist Party) will make presentations on the theme 'Women and the Struggle for Peace'. 


Second Half - Cultural Programme  
This will include poetry of Rabindranath Tagore read by Dr Shaheda Islam and songs performed by women of the CP Bangladesh, a flute solo by Suzan Khalid Mezhar (Iraqi folk music), a poem written and read by Laura Bello, a recorder solo by Scarlett (aged 8) and the anthem "Bread and Roses" led by Rosie MacGregor.

There will be an 'international' the finger buffet after the formal part of the event is finished.

Art Exhibition There will be a small exhibition of art by Mina Boromind (CPB).
Literature A variety of literature and information from participating organisations will be available.
