jointThe assassination on Friday 3 January 2020 in Baghdad, Iraq of Qasem Soleimani, the Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ (IRGC) extra-territorial Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis, Head of Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah, together with several other Iranian, Iraqi, and Lebanese nationals, on the order of US President, Donald Trump, is a clear violation of both Iraqi national sovereignty and international law. 'The ruling class fears a Corbyn victory' say Communists

'The British ruling class are doing as much as they can to prevent Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party from taking office as the result of the General Election', Carol Stavris told the Communist Party's executive committee last weekend.

'Boris Johnson has been given the task by the Tory Party's big business sponsors of leading his divided forces to victory on December 12, aided by vicious daily attacks on Jeremy Corbyn by a large section of the mass media and by anti-socialist elements within his own party', the CP Women's Organiser declared.

Labour can win with bold policies and mass campaigining, Communists insist

'Labour is beginning to gain ground in the General Election as its economic and social policies chime with the needs and aspirations of the mass of the people', the Communist Party declared on Wednesday evening (November 13).

But CP London district secretary Steve Johnson warned that Britain's ruling class and its supposedly 'liberal' intelligentsia will pull out all the stops to prevent Jeremy Corbyn entering Ten Downing Street.

Communist parties warn of 'new war danger' in Middle East

1c27d79cff9fb570d0a1702956dd6478_w275Six Communist and workers' parties have issued a joint statement in Paris warning against the continuing threat of a new war in the Middle East. Meeting at the Fete de l'Humanite, representatives of parties from Iran, France, Lebanon, Cyprus, Iraq and Britain expressed their concern at the rising tension between the governments of the US and Iran. They also condemned the 'economic warfare' being waged against the people of Iran as the result of US and European Union sanctions and pledged solidarity with forces in that country struggling for democratic and human rights.
